Tyrone ACL Division 1 2011 (Round 1) Sunday
17th April 2011
Donaghmore 1-11 v Eglish 2-13 Eglish got their
league season off to a winning start with a
hard fought win away at Fr. Devlin Park,
against local rivals Donaghmore. Donaghmore
got off to a flying start and enjoyed a
three point lead with points from Shane
Mulgrew however Eglish kept tagging on the
points and a goal on the stroke of half
time, meant the visitors led 1-7 to 6 points
at the break. Donaghmore narrowed the gap at
the start of the second half with points
from Niall McKenna and Mark Faloon, but
Eglish also added more points and a Peter Mc
Cann goal for Eglish left the margin too
great for the home side to reduce the
deficit and this finished the game as a
contest. Niall McKenna did manage a late
goal to reduce the gap however this just
proved a consolation score. The game
finished with a five point win for Eglish on
a score line of Donaghmore 1-11 v Eglish
2-13. Donaghmore scorers: Niall McKenna
1-2, Shane Mulgrew 0-04, Aidan Donaghy 0-01,
Mark Hetherington 0-01, Richard Hetherington
0-01, Mark Faloon 0-01 and Damian McCaul
0-01.

Ulster Senior League Sunday 6th March 2011
Ballinascreen
0-13 v Donaghmore 3-08 The Senior squad travelled
to Ballinascreen for their final game in the group
stages of the Ulster League. This was a ‘winner takes
all’ game as Donaghmore lead the group by one point on
the day, and with only one team qualifying out of the
group it was all to play for. The home team started the
game much brighter and quickly established a firm grip
on proceedings which culminated in them holding a
commanding half time lead on a score line of 0-08 to
0-04. However Donaghmore showed much improvement in the
second period and eventually clawed themselves back into
contention, and a counter – attack goal five minutes
from the end drew the game level. Both teams had chances
to establish a winning margin but it was Ballinascreen
who made their chances count and eventually emerged
winners on a score line of 0-13 to 1-08.
Ulster Senior League Sunday 20th February
2011 Watty
Graham’s GAC Glen 0-07 v
Donaghmore 3-08 The Senior squad maintained their unbeaten run in
the Ulster Senior League last weekend after securing a
convincing away victory by 3-08 to 0-07 over Watty
Graham’s GAC Glen. The home side won the toss and
elected to play with the elements, but it was the
visitors who made all the early running and quickly
established a 0-03 to no score lead after 10 minutes.
The home side eventually worked their way back into
contention towards the half time whistle, although
Donaghmore recorded the final score to maintain a 2
point advantage on a score line of 0-06 to 0-04. Despite
playing against the elements, Glen made the more
enterprising start to the second half and were well in
contention after closing the margin to the just 1 point.
However a defensive error which resulted in the first
goal of the game for Donaghmore open up a four point gap
which would increase to 10 points be the final whistle.
Ulster Senior League Sunday 13th
February 2011 Clonduff
0-10v
Donaghmore 0-10 Donaghmore drew away to Clonduff on a
scoreline of 0-10 apiece. The Down side had the better of the
first half and led 0-7 to 0-3 at the break with Donaghmore’s
scores coming from Niall Mc Caul (0-2) and Mark Faloon.
In the second half Clonduff extended
their lead to four points 0-9 to 0-5 but
Donaghmoreshowed great
spirit to come back to draw the game with a last minute free
from Shane Mulgrew. Donaghmore scorers:
Niall Mc Caul 0-5, Shane Mulgrew 0-2, Mark Faloon, Aidan Donaghy
and Brian Robinson 0-1 each
Ulster Senior League
Sunday 6th February 2011 Donaghmore 0-15
v Carrickcruppin 0-10
Donaghmore enjoyed a convincing 15-10 win against Armagh side
Carrickcruppin in the first outing of the year. Donaghmore
trailed 6-2 in the first half but hit the last four points of
the half to draw the game level at the break. Niall Mc Caul,
Richard Hetherington, Pauric Gallagher and Aidan Donaghy were
all on target for the home side. Donaghmore hit a purple
patch at the start of the second half sending over five
unanswered points to open up a gap that Carrickcruppin could do
little to close. Patrick Doherty(2), Richard Hetherington, Niall
Mc Caul and Shane Mulgrew all scored as Donaghmore played some
fine attacking football. Kelvin Hughes and Shane Mc Killion both
starred for their side and the five point winning margin was the
least they deserved.
