Particular thanks to all those who helped out on the day to ensure the
smooth running of the Blitz, especially the referees and also the ladies
who helped out with refreshments. The U16’s travelled to Edendork last
Wednesday evening and came away with a deserved 1-12 to 1-09 victory

Lotto: There were 9 Match 3 winners from
last week’s draw on Monday 9th August, the winning
combination of numbers drawn being 5, 7, 13 and 15.
Adult Football: It was a disappointing
weekend for adult teams as all three games played ended in defeat. On
Friday last, the Reserves hosted Ardboe in the Championship Quarter –
Final and despite entering the game as significant underdogs turned in a
great performance which very nearly got them their just rewards. Despite
playing with a significant breeze in the first period Donaghmore were
unable to translate this on the scoreboard and led by the narrowest of
margins at half – time. However a super second – half performance put
them in pole position as the game entered injury time before Ardboe
equalised to force the tie into extra – time. Tiredness began to show on
both teams as more and more mistakes were made, and it was eventually
Ardboe who capitalised on their share of turnovers to win on a 1-11 to
1-09 score line. On Sunday both Reserves and Seniors hosted Carrickmore
in the League but neither could continue on from their League wins on
the previous weekend. The Reserves had a tight game throughout and
eventually were defeated by 1-16 to 3-06. In the Senior game Carrickmore
stormed out of the blocks and led at half – time by 1-10 to 0-03, and
the tie looked all but over. Donaghmore managed to reduce the deficit to
1-11 to 0-09 after 15 minutes of the second period but a second
Carrickmore goal crushed any revival hopes and the visitors eventually
ran out convincing 2-14 to 0-10 winners. There is no fixture for any
adult teams this weekend and they will resume to League action on Sunday
29th August at home to Trillick.
Youth Football: Coaching for all U8 and U10
children continues every Monday night from 7 – 8PM. The U10 squad have
their next ‘Go Game’ Blitz this Saturday 21st August at home.
All players must report for 9:30AM and are reminded to bring a packed
lunch and appropriate gear in case of bad weather. The U16’s travelled
to Coalisland last Wednesday evening and came away with a comprehensive
6-14 to 2-04 victory to maintain their recent run of good results. They
travel to Edendork on Wednesday 18th August for a throw – in
time of 7:15PM, and also entertain Clonoe next Monday 23rd
August, also at 7:15PM.
“Wee Pat’s Are Back”: Following a rest
period over the holidays the Wee Pat’s Club has re – commenced and

Complex. This initiative is open to all children in classes P1 – P4 and
parents are particularly encouraged to come along and assist in this fun
– centred environment for children.
Committee Meeting: There will be a full
Committee Meeting next Monday 23rd August at 7:30PM in The
Torrent Complex. All committee members are also reminded to report to

Eglish and Moortown.
Club Notes from Monday 09-08-10
Lotto: Congratulations to Marcus Galvin who
scooped the Lotto Jackpot of £3,900 on Monday 26th July.
There were also 4 Match 3 winners from last week’s draw on Monday 2nd
August, the winning combination of numbers drawn being 9, 14, 15 and 17.
Adult Football: Both Seniors and Reserves
travelled to Kildress on Sunday last for Round 9 of the League.
Following on from their Championship victory over the same opposition
nine days previously, a depleted Reserve squad recorded an excellent
victory on a score line of 1-12 to 2-07. Following this good start to
the day the Senior squad were hoping to carry the momentum through and
their game was finely balanced at half – time as Kildress held the upper
hand in terms of possession in the first period but were unable to
convert this to scores, and held a narrow one point lead at the short
whistle. In the second period however Donaghmore proved to much more
efficient in front of goal and turned over some fine scores to run out
convincing 0-13 to 0-05 winners. This weekend sees another busy few days
as the Reserves host Ardboe in the Quarter – Finals of the Championship
on Friday evening at 7:15PM, whilst on Sunday both Seniors and Reserves
host Carrickmore in the League, throw – in times for these games are
2:15PM and 3:45PM respectively.
Youth Football: Coaching for all U8 and U10
children continues every Monday night from 7 – 8PM. The U12’s travel to
Galbally this Thursday 12th August in the next series of ‘Go
Games’, and then play their final series of games next Monday 16th
August at home to Loughmacrory. The U16’s were awarded the points from
last week’s fixture when Carrickmore failed to travel. This week the
team travel to Coalisland on Wednesday evening for a 7:15PM throw – in.
“Wee Pat’s Are Back”:
Following a rest period over the holidays the Wee Pat’s Club has re –
commenced and continues every Tuesday from 7 – 8PM in the Sports Hall of
The Torrent Complex. This initiative is open to all children in classes
P1 – P4 and parents are particularly encouraged to come along and assist
in this fun – centred environment for children.
Club Notes from Monday 02-08-10
Adult Football: The Reserves made a
successful return to competitive action last weekend when they carved
out a hard fought three point win over Kildress in the first round of
the Championship. Despite having a significant amount of possession
Donaghmore were unable to convert this possession to scores and thus
Kildress were always able to remain in touch throughout. However the
home side held on to advance to the next round on a score line of 0-10
to 0-07. This weekend both Seniors and Reserves return to League action
when they travel to Kildress on Sunday 8th August for throw –
in times of 2:15PM and 3:45PM respectively.
Youth Football: Training for all U8 and U10
children continues every Monday night from 7 – 8PM. The U12’s play host
to Beragh next Monday 9th August in the next series of ‘Go
Games’. The U16’s had mixed fortunes last week when they recorded one
win and one defeat from their League encounters. On Tuesday 27th
July they defeated Clonoe on a score line of 4-10 to 4-07, but were
unable to follow this up with a second victory as they were defeated by
Cookstown on Thursday 29th July by the minimum of margins on
a 0-11 to 1-07 score line.
“Wee Pat’s Are Back”: Following a rest
period over the holidays the Wee Pat’s Club returns next Tuesday 10th

by the narrowest of margins on a score line of 0-13 to 1-09. Training for
all adult footballers resumes this Tuesday 20th July as both

Adult Football: Seniors and Reserves
travelled to Cookstown last Saturday evening for Round 8 of the All
County League. As has been the case throughout the year both teams
suffered contrasting fortunes with the Reserves emerging victorious and
the Seniors being defeated. For those who were in attendance for the
Reserve fixture they definitely got value for money as Donaghmore
enjoyed a goal feast and eventually emerged victorious on a score line of
7-09 to 1-11. The Senior game started poorly for Donaghmore as the home
side opened up a 0-04 to no score lead in the opening 10 minutes despite
playing against the elements. However Donaghmore battled back strongly
and scored 5 points without reply to lead by 0-05 to 0-04 and also
spurned a couple of goal opportunities. In the second period Cookstown
started strongly once again and soon took the lead with another scoring
spree of 4 points and despite valiant efforts by Donaghmore they
couldn’t reduce the deficit further and eventually were defeated by 0-12
to 0-08. This Friday evening both teams travel to Greencastle for Round
9 of the League with throw – in times at 6:45PM and 8:15PM.
