TYRONE ABU
Hello to all my friends
in the village and in the hills, how did I get its so wrong? To be honest
Tyrone in an All Ireland Final in September was the last thing I dreamt of
when I was booking my ticket home in July. To beat Dublin was unbelievable
but it was too late to change my ticket then. However, I was able to get the
commentary over the internet, but as luck would have it in the 69th minute
and Tyrone leading by a point we had a power cut, there was some sweat until
one of the priest in Manila sent me a text saying we had won, it was already
midnight here so we had to celebrate, not much sleep that night. I had a
priest from Armagh and Donegal with me as well as lay missionaries from
Fiji, Peru and the Philippines. Well done to Damien for stepping in when he
was needed during the year, and no doubt it's only a matter of time until he
claims a starting position, he has kept up a proud tradition of Donaghmore
men playing for Tyrone. I cannot forget the Minors either, a wonderful last
second point and I know they can do it in Longford, good luck to Niall and
Christopher. Belated congratulations to all the girls who were involved in
the Minor final, surely the day is not long off until you also will be
playing in final day in Croke. Thanks Pauric for the wonderful pictures, it
has made it all alive for me. I hope all the many exiles were with us in
spirit. I can just imagine how Nora would have enjoyed being around at this
time, she is with us in spirit. And don't forget lads your still in the
O'NEILL CUP, believe in yourselves.

Hello to all my friends
in the club, it has been ages since I have been in contact. Thanks to Pauric
on keeping your web site so well up to date, I always look forwarding to
opening it up. A big congratulations to the four lads who will feature in
the Hogan cup final, Niall ,Ace, Daniel and Paddy, well done. It is a great
honour to yourselves your families and to the club. If my memory serves me
right the only time the Academy won the Hogan before we had also four on the
squad, hope it is a good omen. What a challenge to be playing Brendan's the
creme of the Kingdom. I will be really looking forward to the result. To all
in the club keep up the good work. (Fr. Peter, Philippines)

A bit unlucky to lose the
semi final. Better luck next year. What you need is to train the fullbacks
to play in the centre of the field and the midfield to play in the back
line. That way it gives you more strength in the second half. When we played
in the fifties and sixties, the jersey meant everything to us. All our lives
were involved in the Donaghmore St Pats Gaelic games. I'm always thinking of
you all, no matter where I am. Tommy Christie - past full forward.

Absolutely superb results
for the U-16 girls against the big guns of Errigal and Carrickmore. All down
to the leadership of the chairperson I assume???
Great to see the senior men back on course over the last few matches as
well. Are you still in the sin bin Wab??????
Will keep an eye on the web page for more D'More news on my onward travels
to Oz.
Up the Pats!

Hello there to all my
friends in Donaghmore. Good to see the website up and running again, it keeps me
up to date on what is happening. Good to see the auld hands still interested and
keeping in touch like Paddy McKenna - have you improved those kick outs yet?
Hope you are enjoying your new life in the USA. Congrats to Raymie on being
elected new Chairman , it's good to see a Carland man holding the reins, good
luck . I was glad to see Caulfield school did such a wonderful job on St. Pats
day, well done. I feel the GAA club must take in all the parish. Well done also
on pushing ahead with the new developments - we have to look to the future if we
are going to be relevant to the young people coming up. Congrats also to Kelvin,
Damien and Niall, hang in there, it takes time. St Pats day was a bit quiet for
me as you could imagine it is not celebrated here. I was alone - the nearest
Irish man was about four hrs away, however that didnt stop me having a few Irish
coffees with the locals - they enjoyed them so much they said when is the next
St. Patricks day!!!!!! So again Pauric, well done you are nearly as good as the
auld lad to say nothing of the missus. Congrats as well to Leon and to yourself
Pauric but I hear you are rushing into nothing. Best wishes everybody, FR. PETER.

hello d'more,
I think since the under
14's winning the all-ireland in 1988 was a huge achievement for the
club(CLUB HISTORY) maybe the club should have a 20yr reunion for the players
and coaches to show that it was a big deal, and to get old friends back
together, after all thats what its all about.

How's things? I hear that
you had an easy win over Tir na N'Og today. I'm sure it was good to get out
again. I was able to watch the Tyrone match yesterday here in Glastonbury at
the Irish American club. There were a few loud Dubs there so it made it all
the better.
Well done on getting the
website up and running again, it will save me a fortune in phone calls every
Sunday now. Congratulations to Raymie mc Cluskey on taking over the roll of
Chairman, and to all the members of the committee. Good luck for the coming
season and hopefully we can bring home a bit of silverware this year.
Look forward to seeing
you all in April! Paddy Mc Kenna (Boston)
