Adult Result - Donaghmore travelled to Ardboe on Thursday 1st May, still seeking to secure their first win of the 2008 League campaign, following an away defeat to Galbally and home draw with Kildress. Early signs were encouraging as Donaghmore over - ran the hosts and established a 1-06 to 0-02 lead. However, Ardboe controlled the last 10 minutes of the opening period to reduce the deficit at half - time to 4 points in favour of Donaghmore. The visitors extended their lead at the start of the second period, only to be rocked by a fortuitous Ardboe goal which brought the home team right back into the game, and provided the impetus for them to take the lead of the game for the first time. However, Donaghmore were not to be easily beaten, and rallied to reduce the deficit to 2 points with a few minutes remaining. Youth Results - In a busy week for both Male and Female youth teams, there were mixed fortunes for the club. First up on Monday 28th April were the Female Under - 14's were defeated in their first League game, and this was followed by a defeat for the Male Under - 18's by Omagh in the Championship on Tuesday 29th April, beaten on a scoreline of 3-11 to 1-09. However, results improved on Wednesday 30th April when the Male Under -1 4's comprehensively defeated Clonoe by 7-15 to 2-08, and the following evening on Thursday 1st May the Female Under - 14's continued their fine League form in Grade 1 when they defeated Cappagh on a scoreline of 2-13 to 1-05. Adult Results - Male Seniors and Reserves had mixed fortunes when they entertained Kildress on Sunday 27th April. Reserves were first up, and after a tight game throughout, they were just on the wrong end of a 0-10 to 0-08 scoreline. The Senior game followed a similar pattern of play in the 1st half, with Donaghmore leading by just 1 point at the half - time whistle: 0-04 to 0-03. However, a bright start to the 2nd half allowed Donaghmore to open up a 4 point gap which they unfortunately couldn't hold on to despite enjoying the majority of possession. Youth Result - The Male Under - 14's continued their fine run of form in Grade 1 when they defeated Dungannon in their re - arranged fixture of Friday 25t April, winning on a scoreline of 7-13 to 2-08. Sigerson Cup Champions - Congratulations to club player Damien McCaul who was a member of the successful University of Ulster Jordanstown team who defeated Garda College in the delayed Sigerson Cup Final on Tuesday 22nd April in Carlow. This All - Ireland medal adds to the other three collected by members of the St Patrick's Academy Dungannon team who won the Hogan Cup earlier this month. (updated 26-04-08 11:35)

Adult Results - Both Seniors and Reserves suffered disappointing defeats against parish neighbours Galbally on Saturday 19th April. First up were the Reserves who were defeated on a scoreline of 0-13 to 0-08, whilst the Seniors fared no better being defeated by 0-16 to 0-06. Both sides have the chance to bounce back this weekend when they entertain Kildress on Sunday 27th April, with throw - in times at 2:15PM and 3:45PM respectively. Ladies Youth Result - The Ladies Under - 18 team secured an excellent away victory over Errigal Ciaran on Thursday 17th April, which partially avenged their defeat in the Championship to the same opposition little over a week previously. Donaghmore edged the contest on a 1-11 to 1-09 scoreline, which still keeps alive their hopes of securing a place in the League play - offs. Death of Club President - It was with deep shock and regret that we learned of the sudden death of our Club President Nora Devlin on Tuesday 15th April. Nora passed away at her home residence around midday. Nora had been involved with Donaghmore GFC for many years, and held the position of Club Treasurer for many years. This was a position which was performed superbly as Nora managed to maintain good club finances despite some very difficult times for society, and as a testament to the respect in which she was held, when she stepped down from the position of Treasurer she was duly elected to the position of Club President. Youth Games Postponed - As a result of the sudden death of our Club President Nora Devlin, the Under - 14 and Under - 18 League games on Tuesday 15th and Wednesday 16th April have been postponed. These games will be refixed for a later date. (updated 15-04-08 19:16)

Club Photograph - This Saturday, 12th April 2008, there will be a club photograph for all players from Donaghmore GFC in the club grounds at 2PM. Ladies Youth Result - There was disappointment for the Female Under - 18 team when they were defeated by Errigal Ciaran in the Championship on Monday 7th April. Adult Result - The Male Reserves commenced their 2008 season on Sunday 6th April when they entertained Errigal Ciaran. In a game which was played in very wintry conditions, it did not work out as Donaghmore would have hoped and they were well beaten on a scoreline of 2-12 to 0-04. Youth Results - There has been good results for two Youth teams over the recent week, with the Under - 14's leading the way, securing another two victories over Dungannon and Naomh Mhuire respectively. Senior Fixture Cancelled - Due to certain players involvement in the NFL game between Tyrone and Derry on Saturday 5th April 2008, the Seniors 1st League game at home to Errigal Ciaran has been cancelled, and will be refixed for a later date. Youth Result - The Male Under - 14's bounced back from their opening day defeat, and recorded a high - scoring victory over visiting Clonoe on Saturday 15th March, winning on a scoreline of 7-11 to 5-11. Youth Results - There were mixed fortunes for the two Youth teams who began their seasons on Saturday 8th March. First up were the Male Under - 14's who suffered a heavy home defeat to Cookstown on a scoreline of 1-08 to 5-17. However, the Female Under - 18's followed this game with an entertaining 2-11 to 1-10 victory over Glenelly to get their season off to a winning start. Under - 14 Time Change - This weekends Under - 14 game at home to Cookstown will now take place on Saturday 8th March at 3PM, not 11AM as originally fixed. Fixtures Cancelled - Both the Under - 14 and Senior games scheduled for Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd March were postponed as a mark of respect to the Daly family, following the death of Maureen (Cissie), mother of Committee Member Joe Daly, and grandmother of Committee Members Michael Daly, Joanne Doran and Paula Coary. Adult Result - The Male Seniors suffered their second defeat in four outings when they were beaten by Latton on Sunday 24th February on a scoreline of 3-14 to 1-07. It was a tough encounter for the visitors as Latton held the upper - hand for much of the game and controlled proceedings throughout. Adult Result - The Male Seniors got back to winning ways last weekend when they recorded a deserved 4 point away win over Ballyholland (Co Down), on a scoreline of 0-12 to 0-08. Fielding a slightly changed team from the home defeat to Ballinderry in Week 2, it was Donaghmore who made all the early running and showed their intent by going into a 3 point lead. They stretched this lead towards the end of the half to lead by 5 points at half - time. Ballyholland made some positional changes at half - time which negated some of the impact of the visiting forwards in the second half, but Donaghmore continued to control proceeding to run out deserving winners at the full - time whistle. Adult Result - The Male Seniors entertained Ballinderry in the second round of the Ulster League on Sunday 10th February. In a competitive and entertaining game, it was an even first - half, with Ballinderry proving more efficient in their use of possession to lead at half - time. A goal by the visitors ten minutes after the restart opened up a six point gap, but to their credit Donaghmore kept trying, and got their reward with a goal in the final few minutes to reduce the gap to three points. Adult Result - The Male Seniors opened their account for the 2008 season when they recorded a 0-13 to 1-06 victory over Cullaville, in the 1st Round of The Ulster Senior League. In a game which was played in very difficult weather conditions, it was a very even opening quarter, however Donaghmore controlled proceedings in the second quarter to lead at half - time on a scoreline of 0-06 to 0-03. The same trend continued at the beginning of the second period, but some sloppy defending allowed Cullaville in for a goal, which reduced the deficit to 3 points with 10 minutes remaining. Ulster Senior League Fixtures - The Ulster Council have released details of this years Ulster Senior Football League, in which Donaghmore will once again participate. Annual Presentation Dinner - The Annual Presentation Dinner for the 2007 season will take place on Friday 25th January in the Glenavon House Hotel Cookstown. Due to the club hosting their Gala Dinner in May 2008, this presentation dinner will be a 'buffet-style' format, with the various awards being presented for 2007. Annual General Meeting (AGM) - The AGM of Donaghmore GFC will take place in St Patrick's Primary School, Donaghmore on Sunday 20th January, commencing at 5PM.

Under - 21 Result - The final game of the season took place on Sunday 18th November, when a very gallant and talented Donaghmore side were defeated by the narrowest of margins on a 0-08 to 0-09 scoreline by reigning County Champions Errigal Ciaran. It was a game were Donaghmore lead from start to finish, when they were pipped at the post, Errigal's winning point being scored 3 minutes into injury time. (updated 19-11-07 19:13)

Club Maith Award - Following an Ulster Council Club Conference on Saturday 20th October, representatives from Donaghmore GFC were awarded with the Ulster Council Club Maith 'Gold Standard' Award. This award was a result of a pilot scheme which was run by the Ulster Council, whereby our Club was visited and assessed by representatives from Ulster Council on various aspects, including governance, finance, coaching, facilities, culture and so on. This is a very prestigious award for the Club to be presented with, and it is through the hard work of many individuals over the years that this award has been possible.
